How to achieve fast weight loss by doing what you should be doing anyway

It’s amusing but it seems like the simplest solutions to problems in life tends to be the ones that most people simply don’t think about. I know in my own life that I tend to over complicate things when there is no need for it.

According to the centers for disease control nearly 65% of all Americans are either overweight or obese. You might say we have a big problem. Anytime any society has a larger issue, it is natural to have many different solutions to that problem or ideas on how to solve it.

Specifically, these weight loss options come in the forms of diet pills, “medically supervised programs”, meal replacement strategies, calorie counting, calorie restriction, etc. Some of these programs can be quite expensive to. One of the medically supervised programs I am familiar with costs nearly $1,000 to sign up for. I don’t know about you but $1,000 is a lot of money to me.

Here’s one method you can use to achieve fast weight loss that is actually free.

Drink more water!

This should probably be obvious to most human beings and since our bodies are more than 80% water. Lean muscle tissue mass alone holds approximately 75% water.

Here are some basic facts:

Consumption of water naturally suppresses the appetite and aides the body in fat metabolism.

Consumption of water reduces the bodies need to extract it from food sources. This preserves energy that would otherwise be spent removing water from food sources.

Consumption of chilled water raises the body’s metabolism because drinking chilled water reduces the body’s temperature. The body must use fuel to raise the temperature to normal levels. That means it has to burn fat for energy to do this.

Consumption of water aids in the elimination process. When your body begins to burn fat there is a waste product associated with that. This has to be removed from the body. Typically the way this is done is through sweat or urination. You have to have good hydration for this to work well.

Consumption of water helps maintain energy levels. If you’re chronically tired, it might be because you’re dehydrated.

Consumption of water actually reduces the risk of developing kidney stones, gallstones, pressure ulcers, constipation, urinary infections, heart disease, and low blood pressure. There are many other benefits to consumption of water besides these listed.

How much water should you drink?

There is great debate on this but the simple answer is whenever works for you. A good rule of thumb (starting point) is to consume 2 ounces of water per pound of body weight per day. This should be consumed throughout the day.

Another tip on water consumption is to drink an eight ounce glass of water at least 15 minutes prior to a meal. This will start the metabolism before the food enters the body and will aid digestion.

Conclusion

You don’t have to spend $1,000 to achieve fast weight loss. You don’t have to count calories, starve yourself, take a fad product, and/or inject dangerous levels of hormones into your body or any other nonsense. If you want to lose weight fast, do these two things: return to the nutritional choices that your ancestors had for most of our species existence and drink more water.
